Services

At the PCFC, we offer several services that are completed in our own lab with state of the art equipment. By using our own lab, we are able to provide test results faster than other private practices that outsource lab work. We take pride in providing accurate test results in a discrete and professional manner.

Preventative Diagnostic Tests Preformed in our Lab

A stress test can be used to test for heart disease. Stress tests are tests performed to determine the amount of stress that your heart can manage before developing either an abnormal rhythm or evidence of ischemia (not enough blood flow to the heart muscle).Lung function tests (also called pulmonary function tests, or PFTs) check how well your lungs work. The tests determine how much air your lungs can hold, how quickly you can move air in and out of your lungs, and how well your lungs put oxygen into and remove carbon dioxide from your blood. The tests can diagnose lung diseases, measure the severity of lung problems, and check to see how well treatment for a lung disease is working.

Minor Surgeries

A biopsy is a sample of tissue taken from the body in order to examine it more closely. We a biopsy when an initial test suggests an area of tissue in the body isn’t normal.Surgery is an option if non-invasive treatments have failed. Surgery for warts is usually quick and effective. No single surgical method is more effective than another in curing warts. Generally, we start with the surgical method that is least likely to cause scarring.Ingrown Toenail Removal[/wptabtitle] [wptabcontent]In many cases, we recommend partial removal of a severely ingrown nail. Unless the ingrown piece of nail is removed, the problem will often persist. Permanent removal of the nail root at the ingrown side may be advised if ingrown nails recur.

Asthma Management

We provide both lung function tests and allergy testing to help diagnose asthma. Asthma makes breathing difficult for more than 34 million Americans. Asthma symptoms, which include coughing, wheezing, and chest tightness, are common in an asthma attack. Sometimes asthma is called bronchial asthma or reactive airway disease. Asthma in children is on the rise, but with proper treatment for symptoms of asthma, kids and adults can live well. Subsequent to diagnosis, we provide a comprehensive treatment plan that includes both medication and lifestyle changes.

Obesity/Weight Management

Obesity is an excess proportion of total body fat. A person is considered obese when his or her weight is 20% or more above normal weight. The most common measure of obesity is the body mass index, or BMI. A person is considered overweight if his or her BMI is between 25 and 29.9; a person is considered obese if his or her BMI is over 30. Our on-site nutritionist provides customized diet recommendations for patients who struggle with both weight problems and malnutrition.

Attention Deficit Disorder

We diagnose and prescribe medication to our patients who have ADD/ADHD. Such medications often result in increased performance in school or at work. The symptoms of ADHD include inattention and/or hyperactivity and impulsivity. To establish a diagnosis of ADHD, sometimes referred to as ADD, the symptoms should be inappropriate for the child’s age. Adults also can have ADHD; in fact, up to half of adults diagnosed with the disorder had it as children.

Hearing and Vision Tests

Our state of the art hearing and vision equipment allows for us to test our patient’s eyes and ears. We check both hearing and vision annually to ensure each patient can function properly in his or her daily life.

Departments

For the ease of working and making sure our patients are provided with the best services ever,PCFC has been divided into several departments. This is to ensure that every patient is attended to with immediate effect.

Stress Test

A stress test can be used to test for heart disease. Stress tests are tests performed to determine the amount of stress that your heart can manage before developing either an abnormal rhythm or evidence of ischemia (not enough blood flow to the heart muscle).

Lung function tests

Lung function tests(also called pulmonary function tests, or PFTs) check how well your lungs work. An electrocardiogram (EKG or ECG) is a test that checks for problems with the electrical activity of your heart. An EKG translates the heart’s electrical activity into line tracings on paper. The spikes and dips in the line tracings are called waves.

Helicobacter pylori tests

Helicobacter pylori tests are used to detect a Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) infection in the stomach and upper part of the small intestine (duodenum). H. pylori can cause peptic ulcers. The hydrogen breath test is used to diagnose lactose intolerance or determine if abnormal bacteria is present in the colon. Lactose intolerance is the inability to digest lactose, the sugar found in milk. It causes cramping, bloating, gas, or diarrhea any time dairy products are consumed. Lactose intolerance occurs due to the body’s lack of lactase, an enzyme normally produced by the small intestine that is needed to digest lactose.Knowing your cholesterol levels is an essential part of understanding your own risk for heart disease. The American Heart Association recommends that everyone over age 20 get a cholesterol test. We measure and diagnose high cholesterol with a simple blood test, often called a lipid profile. It’s often done after fasting for nine to 12 hours to eliminate the contribution of any fat you recently ate.

Biopsy Surgery

A biopsy is a sample of tissue taken from the body in order to examine it more closely. We a biopsy when an initial test suggests an area of tissue in the body isn’t normal.Wart Removal Surgery is an option if non-invasive treatments have failed. Surgery for warts is usually quick and effective. No single surgical method is more effective than another in curing warts. Generally, we start with the surgical method that is least likely to cause scarring.Ingrown Toenail Removal. In many cases, we recommend partial removal of a severely ingrown nail. Unless the ingrown piece of nail is removed, the problem will often persist. Permanent removal of the nail root at the ingrown side may be advised if ingrown nails recur.

Suturing Minor Cuts.

Most minor cuts and scrapes heal on their own, with little more intervention needed than mild soap and water to keep them clean. But more serious cuts or incisions from surgical procedures may require stitches, or sutures, to hold tissues together while they heal. The goal is to piece together the edges so that skin and other tissues can fuse back together. Then the stitches are removed.Ear Piercing. We provide professional ear piercing. Our instruments are sanitary and state of the art. Many teens develop infections in their ears due to unsanitary ear piercing equipment that is quite common in malls and other non-professional institutions. We encourage our patients to obtain consent from their parents and have their ears pierced by a professional in our office to avoid such complications.
